 Re: tenticals
Thank you for the feedback. We have one vote in favor of the scales! That was a last minute thing when I noticed that that character model had an alternate make-up texture that had the mascara-run. I deduced that since Keiko was crying at the end of the last part, it would have made sense for her to have a mascara-run. Also, there's that whole suggestion of "just a minute ago she was crying her face out but now she is completely devoid of feeling". Subtle, but suggestive. Good luck with that. I hear it's a cutthroat industry. I admit I haven't seen this but maybe now I'll hunt it down. Thank you for this comment. Comments and praise from readers really means a lot to us creators at Hipcomix. Even criticism is as precious as gold because it shows you care enough to write! I will not be in England at that time but let me say that England is always in my heart... It will get much worse for the Platinum Earth. One vote against the scales...but that's OK! You see, I'm tricky tricky. There is a pre-designed loophole around the scales I've not shown you yet!
I will be honest with you. This storyline is already in the can...I completed it in early March. I'm actually working on Act 22 at the moment. These stories I'm writing are going to hop around for a while as I have many more characters to introduce. Think of it as a smorgasboard where you get to sample a lot of everything to see what you like over a 2-4 issue arc.
But don't worry, I said earlier that when this arc ends, it doesn't truly end. Given that you chaps all seem to like it, I'm going to shift my plans and revisit the Kuuntais earlier than scheduled, so you will definitely be seeing more of them this year, and in a way that will probably surprise you!
Let it not be said that I am inflexible!
Thank you all for the comments, I really do treasure them,
Sir Willoughby Faulkner Sedgewick

Hello. I really enjoy your stories so far. Their eclectic nature is very nice. Sometimes its squicky parasites, other times the themes are mystical, other times mechanical programming routines and mind control technology, always nice to see what you will do next. Sometimes its an anime theme, other times the characters are more "conventional" in design. You have done some fantastic world building!
I like nice surprises:)
Having said which, I do feel sorry for that cute ninja girl from Act 7 who appear to have been badly injured and may have died...
Oh well, keep up the great work!

You know, I have to admit that I've let my membership run out, but after seeing some of the covers and reading descriptions of your stories in here, it sounds like you have some good mind control/transformation/corruption stuff going on in your story. I'll definitely have to resubscribe soon so I can see what I've been missing!!

Dear Reader,
Today The Platinum Earth Act 13 is released at HIPComix.
You can read the latest installment at the member's area here:
http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/galler ... mId=101995
For me, I wanted to reproduce a classic battle scene from a 1970s Japanese robot anime where the monsterous enemy makes their debut with a classic Japanese name momentarily stamped across the screen.
At the end of this installment, you may notice a familiar face in the background if you've been following The Platinum Earth from the very beginning. In the end, everything is connected.
In two weeks we drop in to see what's happening in China!
Hello leto17, Things will be eclectic until about October, when a large storyarc will debut. I won't say anything about it now, but it should make people here pleasantly surprised. In terms of the world building, only a fraction of what is in my head has so far come out. Ideas come like lightning...the Poser 7 rendering engine moves like molasses.
Hello madcap,
Mind control and evil corruption are my schtick...these themes will occur time and again in The Platinum Earth and it can be somewhat of a struggle to keep the execution fresh. However, I do strive to ensure I'm not running around in circles whenever I start a new arc, even if it's just changing perspectives. In addition, I try to ensure at least 18 pages of content in every member's update I make. Usually it's more. Compared to the price of a monthly comic book you'd buy off the shelves, I'd say 36+ pages a month (no ads!) is pretty good value.
Thank you,
Sir Willoughby

Dear Reader,
Today The Platinum Earth Act 14 is released.
You can read the latest installment at the member's area here:
http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=102894
This Act opens up a new area of the Platinum Earth and introduces some (more) new characters, some of which are major heroines of my world. I suppose the reason why I have called my series "The Platinum Earth" is because the ultimate star of this saga is the actual Earth itself. Eventually, I'd like the readers to get a clear understanding of exactly what is happening on every region of this planet.
In terms of today's story, I wanted to make one with a simplistic form of mind control - that is, a techno-chip implanted somewhere around the victim's head. I'll be exploring that in the next few issues.
Sincerely,
Sir Willoughby

Dear Reader,
Today it is time for the next installment in my ongoing series, Act 15. You can view the latest story here :
http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/galler ... mId=102897
The trickiest part of making this installment was Wen Wei taking off her clothes. Poser isn't really designed for that sort of thing unless the creator of the clothing made morphs that allow you to disrobe the clothing on a character. Clearly Wen Wei's one piece leotard was not designed for that, but I think the few images of her stripping at the order of general Tong turned out OK.
In addition, it was nice to get a certain Vietnamese-American girl back into the pages of this series. I was quite happy with her little flashback sequence when it was completed.
I hope you enjoy the story.
Sincerely,
Sir Willoughby

I look forward to each chapter
I have enjoyed many different Illustrated Strips this site holds but yours is growing into my must view title. I thought the Parasite story arc was so erotic. I mean to show the first victim fight the control of the bug only to have her collapse and have the new controlling evil hive larve to first take on basic body control and then take total of the new host made me cum big time.
I also like the way you present the younger femme back at headquarters as the next inevitable target. Her unsuspecting innocence and pure goodness is so ripe for the picking to the corrupting spirit of the hive. It makes her all the more tasty a treat.
But this new story arc with the Chinese gov is just as involving. To have the Lt. go from an independent career officer to a willing love slave and robot with just a press of a button is wicked. I know that our little China Doll would be the first to protect others of her Gender if she was in total control. It makes it all the more exciting that the same woman under the proper control would so willingly be the agent of converting another woman without a moments hesitation or emotional conflict. I think she is much happier that way.
Please keep it up.

I've also enjoyed the story very much. Lt. Song makes quite a nice thrall, as do the fetching cadets! I am also looking forward to seeing the zombie type gals on the July 4th cover. Keep up the fine work of your fertile imagination!

That's very encouraging for me to hear. I only make stories I myself would want to read and enjoy. It's good to know there are others out there on a similiar wavelength. Expect to see more of them, in ways I guarantee you cannot even begin to imagine from your current standpoint. All I can say is it's safer not to assume. I don't adhere to the idea of "set them up to knock them down". Don't expect that every female character I introduce is going to be placed in a situation you can see coming a mile away. If I am telegraphing my punches that badly, I may as well hang up my mouse right now! Song Jia is loyal to the Republic of China first and foremost and certainly not a feminist. I think if she was given a legitimate order she would follow it, no matter what her personal feelings were on the matter. However, General Tong's orders are far from legitimate, are they? Hold on there! No cadet is a thrall just yet! (although I have to make a note to tell Timo to stop releasing my covers so far ahead of time...)
I have nothing to say on that matter at this time.
I would also like to say however, that you may have noticed in the free upcoming covers area that "The Platinum Earth" is going into overdrive for the month of June. While Timo was planning his summer vacation, I hit him over the head and stole all of his slots! This is in addition to my own biweekly updates. So in the next few weeks, prepare for FIVE Platinum Earth installments in rapid succession. You'll get sick of me, I'm sure.
Finally, I wish to say that I am in the post-planning stages of two big and interrelated story arcs that I am very excited about. Let me be clear about something - what I've posted on Hipcomix up until now has been ORDINARY. I'm finally at a position where enough characters have been introduced that we can start playing around with some concepts and storylines that quite frankly is going to blow the socks off the readership here. I've never been genuinely excited and pumped up about making my stories until I conceived of these new projects. Enthusiastic perhaps, but definitely not excited.
You'll see what I'm currently working on in September and you'll understand immediately why I'm so excited. It all begins with The Platinum Earth Act 25!
Thank You for Your Consideration,
Sir Willoughby Faulkner Sedgewick

Dear Reader,
Today we conclude the "Granvion X" arc.
The latest installment of The Platinum Earth is posted online for you in the member's area, available here:
http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/galler ... mId=103328
We learn the fates of the new Hive Mothers Keiko Kurogane and Nina Usami (of sorts).
But this story is a bit heavier on the action...I wanted to show more about the character of Daizen Ashikaga, a character you may remember from way back to issue #4 of The Platinum Earth, available for reading right now in the free area!
I could have placed all the "Granvion X" stories back to back so Act 16 you're seeing today could have actually been Act 14. But I thought it was a good idea to mix things up a bit, so I intertwined the Chinese story arc with this one. Chronologically, both scenarios are occurring at the same time in the wider story.
Sincerely,
Sir Willoughby

Thanks for the new chapter!
"You'll get sick of me, I'm sure."
I doubt THAT very much!
I really like the character of Bianca Solitaire. I have enjoyed your parasitic "Hive" (As in MarvlinUK's old Re-Program and the even older William Lee Hive) oriented theme stories, and those where hi-tech mind control techniques and robotization are involved.
Oddly enough, the story reminds me of Masami Obari's Gravion and Gravion Zwei, although much less cheesy and with no maids. Normally I dislike Obari's work, but I remember that series because I actually enjoyed it due to the self-mocking humor which he embraced.
I also see hints of some erotic horror in the future (somewhat reminiscent of what Bible Black could have done if it had done MC which it would have been perfect for), which is very nice, provided it doesn't end as in so many with the corrupted, vampiric, or 'undead' humans being destroyed simply because they are "unnatural" . I actually came up with the idea for Halloween Havoc (although Dr. Robo and Fin did all the real hard work) as sort of a palliative to that, and because I always like the concept of an erotic Bride of Frankenstein
Anyway, keep up your work. Thank you.

Dear Reader,
I don't have long so I'll be quick:
You can read the latest issue of The Platinum Earth, Act 17, here:
http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/galler ... mId=104880
The only reason Act 17 really exists is because Act 15 was so large that I had to slice it into two pieces! I continue to depict the misadventures of our two Republican Chinese cadets. Everything is going to draw to a conclusion on this arc in the next issue.
There's a rule in comic book writing and writing in general: DON'T BURY YOUR LEAD! I have certainly shot that maxim to pieces, haven't I?
Is there a hero in "The Platinum Earth"? Is there even a main character?
Well, it may surprise you to know that there is actually a hero to this whole thing. One main character.
The thing is, you haven't even seen him yet!
I'm not even sure when you will get a chance to meet the protagonist of this whole story. I suppose in the meantime, just enjoy this demented collage I am piecing together from slivers of my fractured mind!
Sincerely,
Sir Willoughby

 I stand corrected
I enjoyed reading your point by point response to the observations that I and others have made. I just assumed such a tasty looking nubile creature in the cut away to headquarters was using a classic dramatic device. I think it is the unexpected nature of your strip that keeps me up and guessing. Not to mention the hotness factor of the Asian female form as an added punch.
What a great device having the villain fucking the Lt. as Wenwei was strapped into the chair. He just didn't stand there in the corner as the countdown to Wen's mental destruction was proceeding, he used his the situation to heighten his enjoyment of the Lt. I think we all would need to have a way to freshen up the sex if you could dominate woman after woman. Also while I enjoy a big tited femme like any guy I also like that you made them women of a more natural proportion.
I can only guess about the new ways you will advance your stories. This site has become a necessary expense.

I'm actually glad this arc has come to an end. Its primary purpose was to introduce Fei Min and Anya as characters of The Platinum Earth. On paper, the story was only supposed to take 3 acts, it stretched out a little longer than that. I will definitely come back to the situation in China sometime in the future...there are still more characters to introduce that I only mentioned in this story arc in conversation. Can you guess who is going to show up in the future?
Bianca's not done for just yet! I won't veer too far into a horror theme, at least, not in the traditional slasher movie sense. You'll see where I'm taking the whole Hive Mother storyline in September...you'll not expect the turn it will take.
I'm reminded of this quote:
[i]“As for technique, what the novice writer mistakes for craft is simply his unconscious absorption of story elements from every novel, film or play he’s ever encountered. As he writes, he matches his work by trial and error against a model built up from accumulated reading and watching. The unschooled writer calls this “instinct,â€

Poor Afghanistan can't catch a break, even in fiction. On The Platinum Earth, Afghanistan is the front line in the war between humanity and the Ghaanite invaders firmly established in Central Asia. The war effort has lasted for years, mainly conducted by the powers of continental Europe.
You may have noticed some similarities between Lady Paragon and Doctor Paragon and another famous couple. That's because they were based on the characters you're probably thinking about. You'll also notice that several characters from separate Platinum Earth arcs are coming together. All these heroines have one thing in common - they are "Illuminates", blessed with powers by a group called the Arzentium.
We'll learn more about the Arzentium in the future.
Sincerely,
Sir Willoughby

Wow, just when I thought the mind control couldn't get hotter, you bring in zombie slaves! Well done! I'm finding this form of mind control super hot!
Keep up the great work!

Dear Reader,
Today the zombie arc continues with Act 20 of The Platinum Earth.
You can read it here if you are a member:
http://memberslogin.hipcomix.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=106484
While I wanted to just explain a bit more about the zombification concept in this issue, I also wanted to include some action. Hence we have Gold Comet and Sea Sapphire's double play. That image is something I've had in my head for a while.
In addition, we also get a better look at Sidewinder, who we last saw frozen as a statue in Act 9. Poor Nimbus is still out there somewhere...
Finally, I must say my favorite image in this issue is the ass shot of the Italian reporter, that one turned out better than it appeared. The blue-gray tinge renders the contours quite nicely.
In two weeks we'll be wrapping up the zombie arc to move into what I'm calling the Ultimo arc. But more on that another time.
Sincerely,
Sir Willoughby

Just had to say that I am really enjoying this new series Sir Willloughby. You really have created an impressive and fully realised world. And to add to that, you've also thrown in some scaldingly hot mind control action as welll. Kudos!

Chapter 20 was an excellent installment. Thanks! I also like how you kinda let the story tell itself over what the existence of a zombie in the pelasure corps was. I also liked the new "tuff" Sidewinder character, and how bringing these heroines, superagents, and the fembot makes it seem as if everyone is closing in and converging on the the baddies
